Youth Engagement and Advocacy Coordinator
Connecting American youth with the work of the United Nations is the core of Marco Fabian Sanchez’s work as the Youth Engagement & Advocacy Coordinator for the United Nations Association. In his current role, Marco helps to build grassroots support for the United Nations in the U.S. by empowering UNA’s national network of advocates to take action. Marco also helps to manage UNA’s advocacy priorities by connecting UN advocates with their Members of Congress and working with Better World Campaign to help UNA members build strategic relationships on Capitol Hill.
Throughout his academic career at California State University, Fullerton, Marco was a former UNA campus chapter leader, where he helped to lead grassroots advocacy efforts in the Southern California community. In addition to advocacy, Marco has a personal interest in human rights and international economic development given his previous role as a policy consultant for the World Bank Group. Through his experiences in advocacy, organizational development and public leadership, Marco has been able to successfully engage everyday Americans and lawmakers by educating communities about the United Nations, and the importance of a strong U.S.-UN partnership.
