Universal Periodic Review Consultation Reports

In May 2020, the United States will undergo a “Universal Periodic Review” (UPR) of its domestic human rights record at the UN Human Rights Council. In 2019, UNA campus and community chapters hosted local Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Consultations to engage the UN on strengthening human rights in the United States.

What is a "UPR Consultation Report"?

UPR Consultations convene advocates to discuss a specific human rights issue in the United States. After the Consultation, advocates compile an official reports which includes specific observations and constructive recommendations for the U.S. federal government.

The reports below were submitted by UNA chapters and partner organizations for consideration in the May 2020 Universal Periodic Review.
